Past, Present, and Future Tense |
Back Verb tense shows when an action happened. The action could have already happened, it could be happening now, or it could be happening in the future. Present tense: shows actions that are happening now. A fish jumps out of the water. I am sitting in my car. The students sit down. Past tense: shows actions that already happened. I went to work yesterday. The football game was on TV yesterday. Mary won the contest. Future tense: shows actions that are going to happen in the future. We will sing at the choir concert. My dog will wag its tail when I get home. Whoever wins the contest will earn a prize. |
